recommended dat study materials
"What materials did you use to study for the DAT?"
Everyone wants to know the best study guide, the best materials, and the most comprehensive way to study for the DAT. After all, the score is very important, and you need to impress your Board of Admissions with it.
Although each person is different in terms of what materials works best for them, I'll list some of the resources which I felt to mirror the test most similarly. These options were also amongst the cheapest (and who doesn't love that!)

ARi's dat bootcamp
This website was definitely my #1 study material. I found that the information wasn't too difficult, and there were always videos to explain the answer to each question. The program is relatively inexpensive, and you will still have access to your old materials once your membership has expired. Ari put together a 10 week study guide that is fantastic. Best of all, Ari responds to your emails.
I would 100% recommend this material!

Kaplan DAT practice book
I am one who prefers having a physical book that I can write in when I am taking notes, and this book was exactly what I was looking for. It has a plethora of knowledge for the DAT and goes into the same depth that the test will expect you to know. This book, supplemented with plenty of YouTube channels and Ari's DAT Bootcamp were plenty for me.
This book also has a couple of practice length tests. I would strongly recommend taking the practice tests every week to build up your endurance for the real thing.

ada provided practice tests
I would definitely recommend practicing the ADA's practice test. These questions were previous DAT questions, so you can test your depth of knowledge. Here is the 2007 DAT free sample test, and here are the solutions.
Additionally, the ADA has published the 2009 version. Although this version cost about $35, I think it is an excellent investment.

Other testing materials
Some people swore by Chad's videos. Others promised that though difficult, DAT destroyer was the way to go. I cannot say firsthand that these are useful sites, but others loved them. Most of the programs will come with a free trial or offer a free practice test. I would highly recommend exploring these options before you start shelling out money.
at the end of the day...
At the end of the day, you have to find what is best for you. No matter which study prep material you choose, just be sure that you are ready to completely commit yourself during your designated study time. It's okay to turn off your phone to concentrate, wear comfortable clothes, and drink numerous cups of coffee. Everyone has been right there with you.
Figured out what materials you're going to use? Awesome!
